Persius (34 A.D - 62 A.D)He was born to a wealthy equestrian family. He lost his father when he was six years old. Around the age of 12 or 13 he was sent to Rome to be educated in the best grammatical and rhetorical schools. However, his teacher and patron, Cornutus, left a great impact on Persius, leading to a life of philosophy. As a result of his conversion to philosophy, he led a withdrawn life devoted to study and family affection.
