Marcus Aurelius (121 A.D - 180 A.D)As a Stoic philosopher, Marcus Aurelius already was accustomed to the ways the literary arts. As he and his co-emperor was tutored by Fronto, they both have a grasp in the military arts, as well as stoicism. While he fighting in the Marcomannic Wars, he complied his philosophical thoughts on stoicism itself. As a ruler, he was dubbed the last of the "Five Good Emperors" and his successful military expeditions stopped the Persians in their tracks (by sacking their capital at the time of Ctesiphon). He however, made a fateful decision (ruining trends) by naming his biological son, Commodus, as his heir, rather than adopting like his predecessors did. Apparently he also loved to be in bed with his wife, because he fathered more than 14 children (fun fact for you to think upon).
