Trajan (53 A.D - 117 A.D)While Trajan was not as hands on regarding writing, he obviously (because all great emperors encouraged the making of the arts, even Nero) was more of a patron for these arts. Many authors flourished under his reign and he cultivated this by establishing the Basilica Ulpia, located in the Forum of Trajan, was the biggest library ever in Rome. He ruled during Rome's greatest extent and as such added to knowledge gained from distant lands. His successor, Hadrian, would continue to carry on his will.
